Archangel Michael is one of the highest-ranking angels, playing a most intimate role in the destinies of the Church. Holy Scripture teaches us that, in addition to the physical realm, there exists a vast spiritual world inhabited by intelligent, benevolent beings known as angels. The word "angel"—derived from the Greek—means "messenger." Scripture uses this term because God frequently employs these beings to convey His will to humanity. We know almost nothing—and, in truth, are fundamentally incapable of comprehending—the nature of their existence within that spiritual realm or the specific character of their activities. They dwell under conditions entirely distinct from our own material reality; there, time, space, and all the circumstances of existence possess a completely different essence. The prefix "arch-" (meaning "chief" or "principal") applied to certain angels signifies that their service is of a higher order than that of other angels. The name "Michael" means "Who is like God?" in Hebrew. In its accounts of angelic appearances to various individuals, Holy Scripture identifies only a few angels by name—presumably those entrusted with a special mission in the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth.

Innumerable miracles of Saint Fanourios. All who turn to his help and intercession always receive what they ask, unless this desire is contrary to the will of God.
The name of the Saint means "Showing", that is ," making visible", so people pray to the Saint most often in the hope of finding something. Examples are very different: for example, a person who lost the keys in the hope of finding them may come to Saint Fanourios with a prayer, or someone who has lost a loved or health; or just a girl who dreams of finding a betrothed. A lighted candle in the hands of Saint Fanourios is a light of hope for those who ask.
According to the legend, the mother of Saint Fanourios was a great sinner. Fanourios tried to rouse remorse in her but in vain. Nevertheless, he continued to pray fervently for her salvation. Suffering for Christ, he once exclaimed: "For these sufferings, Lord, help all who will to pray for the salvation of the my mother!"
