A Spanish private of the Catalan Light Infantry battalion during the war of 1807-1808. It was the honor guard of the main army, and the colors of the uniforms fully corresponded to the flag of the country. This battalion took an active part in the Napoleonic campaign against Russia in 1812 and was formed from ordinary residents of Neuchatel.
